Every year, the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) hosts an awareness week for eating disorders.  In the past, community agencies have hosted local vigils in remembrance of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and in recent years, community volunteers have kept the vigil going through their own efforts.  In keeping with their mission of community collaboration, this year, the Nebraska Eating Disorder Network (NEDN) collaborated with community volunteers, Dylan Murphy and Amy West, to host the annual National Eating Disorder Awareness Week Vigil.  NEDN collaborated by identifying speakers and marketing the event, and this year saw the highest turn out in recent years.  NEDN members, Jessica Wegener, Rae Thomas, and Mary Lynn Kardell were among those that spoke at the event.  The vigil also brought in body positive exercises, music, stories of recovery, poems, and a moment of silence.
