About Us
We are a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit organization, whose purpose is to establish a centralized resource for both Nebraska professionals working with eating disorders and Nebraskans impacted by eating disorders. Our mission is to provide community education, professional networking, and professional workshops in the area of eating disorders.
The idea for a network of professionals and community members dedicated to the service of eating disorders was conceived by Emily Estes and Casey Tallent. They began planning the idea for what is now the Nebraska Eating Disorder Network. In July 2016, Casey and Emily invited several practitioners from the State of Nebraska to meet to discuss the formation of a 501(c)3. Throughout the next few months, volunteers from the initial meeting began to form the Nebraska Eating Disorder Network. In February 2017, the first Executive Committee members were elected into their positions, and in March 2017 the network obtained its official 501(c)(3) status.
The Nebraska Eating Disorder Network is supported by volunteers on the Executive Committee. Officers for 2017 include: Jessica Wegener (President), Angie Heim (Vice President), Aimee Hollendieck (Secretary), Mary Lynn Kardell (Treasurer), Emily Estes and Casey Tallent (Co-Founders), Denisa Hollendieck (Membership Chairperson), Brandi Stalzer (Social Media Chairperson), Leigh Jensen (Event Planning Chairperson) Crystal Zabka Belsky (Fundraising Chairperson), and Heather Patterson Meyer (Member-At-Large).
